Running

I shot this on Sunday and I’ve ran 3 more times since then. I’m not in excruciating pain anymore and I can almost walk normally.

  1. Great settting an example, in a vlogging and personal health type of way. People are better off taking care of their health and your vlog can remind them of the effort it requires.

  2. Keep going it will get better. I bought a bike two years ago and the first time I went out my lungs exploded. I thought like you this was not that hard in the past, but years spent clicking little buttons takes it’s toll. Take care and all the best.

  3. Running? It sounds more like you smoked a big fat stogie, with all that coughing! After not exercising regularly for literally 10 years I started taking hot yoga classes and nearly dropped dead after the 10 minutes. I was sure I could feel my lungs shrinking. Stuck with it though.

With fly shoes like those it would be impossible NOT to want to go for a run! You stick with it and you’ll be keeping up with the fourth graders in no time!

  4. This has been an annual process for me.
I’m actual in peak shape at the moment, but
come summer it slowly detiorates until the
next sept. Being in shape is a strange elusive
mistress that you need to spend consitent time with. And the older you get, the harder it gets, it’s
harder to get warm, you feel it more the next day.

  5. It might be fun to get the vloggers around the country to participate in local 5K’s wearing their vlogger shirts.

John and I have been training a bit ourselves over the last month and it does get easier. We just ran in the Komen 5K on Saturday and it felt great.

  6. Hey Michael, I run too!

I am slow and wobbly. If only we could run on our mouse-clicker fingers, and our butts. In front of the computer, those are the parts of my body that seem to be of most use.

  7. Keep at it, Michael. In May of 2004, I could barely run 1/2 mile, and it stayed that way for weeks! I never thought that my body would adapt. 6 months later…I completed my first marathon! I hope this motivates you. Good luck!

  8. I was on track too once. The “good” runners would run so hard that when the race was finished they’ed puke from the over exertion. I think that was when I decided track wasn’t for me. Hope you enjoy the getting back out and running. Please don’t puke.

  9. hey verdi – congrats on getting good shoes and getting out there. I started running a year ago now and it’s been a great counter balance to all the computer-sitting…i wish you lots of luck getting up to speed. Have fun!

  10. I just finished 7K on the treadmill – it makes me feel less guiltly about sitting in front of this computer so much since I’ve started vlogging!

Keep at it – once you get over the initial inabilty to respire your body kicks into runner’s high and that is AWESOME!

If I could put that feeling in a bottle I’d be a millionaire!

  11. Yeah, I ran for a while too. I was young and in shape and strong as an ox, muscles rippling and glistening with sweat. Now I am fat and lazy. I will leave the running to you, my friend. It just seems like too much work.

just kidding. I need to do that too.
